Economic Geographies of Mountain Areas

Portrait

The Unit of Economic Geography at the Institute of Geography regularly conducts studies on the socio-economic development of Swiss mountain regions. The focus is on questions of sustainable social and economic development in different areas - centers and peripheries. Another important aspect of our work is its relevance to society. We therefore regularly develop and communicate the implications of our research for policy and planning practice.

The research projects presented on this website are either ongoing or completed. Some of them were financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
