Definition

"Hubs" are defined as central places that combine different aspects of life (mobility, work, etc.), connect people and promote interaction. So far, “hubs” have been researched in rural areas. We define “mountain hubs” as central places in the Swiss mountain area that provide infrastructures to satisfy one's basic needs (e.g. living, working, leisure).
