Method

The research project will be conducted as a comparative case study over a period of four years (2023–2027).

We collect the same data for each “Mountain Hub” in order to be able to compare. We conduct one data collection phase per year.

The first survey took place from April 2024 until August 2024. The combination of qualitative and ethnographically inspired methods, which we employ in multi-week field stays, enables us to investigate the underlying processes of the evolution of a core in the periphery among different spatial and temporal scales.
